Tokyo Insight was a short-term project exploring the streets of Tokyo through spontaneous interviews with both locals and foreigners. Each interview began in either English or Japanese, depending on the person being interviewed. Then, midway through the conversation, the language would suddenly switch—either from English to Japanese or vice versa—to capture the interviewee’s genuine, unfiltered reaction. The goal was to highlight cross-cultural moments, linguistic surprises, and uncover people's plans while in Japan.
The videos gained between 7,000 and 12,000 views, reflecting a strong interest in this candid, bilingual storytelling approach.

Interviewing Italians in Japanese?

I interviewed a group of Italian tourists about their plans during their visit in Japan.

Interviewing Japanese High Schoolers in English!

Even though the microphone was malfunctioning, this video ended up being one of the best I’ve ever recorded, especially during the interviews with Japanese people. Their funny and innocent reactions were what made the video a success.
